We are targeting vCloud Express by Terramark for our first implementation for Cloud Provisioning and Infrastructure as a Service via Hosting Controller 8. We expect that the provisioning API we are developing will extend to all Cloud Services support Vmware.

Hoyt Corp vCloud Express solution provides instant provisioning and unlimited, dynamic compute resources to any vCloud Express Providers. . vCloud Express is the first VMware-based cloud hosting infrastructure that can be purchased, consumed and adjusted similarly to Amazon’s EC2 offering.

vCloud Express delivers control directly to the consumers. You can setup new accounts, adjust virtual machine resources, turn additional machines on or off and deploy and execute virtual machine.

vCloud Express is an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution that runs on the Terramark Cloud Enterprise infrastructure. Consumers currently utilizing VMware internally will have complete compatibility between their internal infrastructure and external infrastructure resources used for application development and testing, capacity on demand, and general outsourced infrastructure needs.

Virtual Server Deployment

Hoyt Corp. utilizes the Hosting Controller 8 API with our custom Application for automated provisioning of Web Services for vCloud Express API IaaS Providers. Our Cloud Provisioning Application Cloud utilizes the Hosting Controller 8 and vCloud Express API's.

Upon completing the Signup Process your Virtual Server Account will be provisioned with a Web Control Panel. Please note that the Cloud Provisioning API for HC is BETA, and we are constantly working to improve your experience. Expected Provisioning time is under 2 hours, depending on your configuration. The process is completly automated and you will receive an e-mail confirming server deployment and access information.

All Servers include our Managed Services, such as Backup, Update and Configuration. If you are looking to 'do-it-yourself', then we'd suggest you go directly to Terramark vCloud Express. We are only charging a 15% markup on our costs for the Cloud Provisioning Rate Elements described above.

Our provisioning API can extend to any Cloud Service on concept, however, our beta beta is via vCloud using HC8.

For AntiVirus, we are using F-Secure or Avast. We will anstall any AV or solution upon request. These products are known to work well.

Please note that access is via RDP / MSTSC and/or Web Browser. Upon request, we can insall and configure SSHd (Secure Shell).

Client Configuration Information

Your Virtual Server will be provisioned typically within an hour and larger configuration up to 12 hours. We will e-mail you with Access and Authentication information for RDP / MSTSC connection for full r00t / Administrator Access.

IF you have any questions, please CHAT us or file a support ticket in the Control Panel. We suggest while you are waiting for your Server to be provisioned that you login to our OSS Platform and familiarize yourself with the Hosting Controller Interface and the Virtual Provisioning API (which is development). The Application is on your Menu title Terramark. We are implenting every piece of the API specs into our Application. The Application has implemented functionality from the vCloud API to Create, Modify and Delete Servers and Services.

Managed Services Description

Managed Services for Virtual servers are an add-on package starting at $500/month for daily backup, administration, patching, troubleshooting and constant prescience. This cost is targeted at the needs of the average server customer and additional charges may be applied for services outside the Managed Services Scope. For example, installing MySQL, Installing Custom Software, Saas, Group Policy Templates, or other software, tools or adminsitrative time required to complete the a task that is beyonf the scope of the Managed Services for Virtual servers. Additional Support Units may be purchased for $60 per indicent which is equal to 20 minutes with a Support Engineer. Multiple Support Units may be required to complete task(s).

Virtual Server Details:

Virtual Server Management - We will manage your server and handle setup, configuration and all services and e-mail you RDP/MSTSC Access within 1 hour during normal working hour, depending on your machine configuration. The larger machines can take nearly a business day to provision.

Details.. we use vCloud Express / TerraMark for Cloud Provisioning, we are provisioning thru the API and we are developing an Application for Hosting Controller. We use the Terramark provided templates and provision a machine automatically.

The API's are still being developed, and we ask that you be understand the development process and see the BETA stickers all over the vCloud platform.

Cost Structure - We are charging (Costs + 15%) for virtual servers. We will provide management services at regular rates.

The setup and configuration of the Virtual server is very straitforward.. please follow along below:

You will go thru the signup process and at the end you'll have a Windows or Linux virtual server you can get to with RDP or SSH.

The process is signup>confirm>provision>receive e-mail confirmation> access server via TS or SSH.

The API's will provision a server and power it on with a Public IP you'll need to DNS. The IP address is contained in your signup e-mail or contact us with CHAT, Toll Free or Support Ticket.

The IP to point for Virtual Server 'Address' Record will be contained in the e-mail you recieved at signup.

Please note that we will file a Support Ticket with Terramark to get Reverse DNS provisioning on the IP your Server is assigned, and that the process mayu take up to 3 business days, it is not an automated process via API.

We will configure your Server DNS with our Account with OpenDNS initially until you gain access to the server and configure your services. If you want other DNS Servers, you will input the Resolver IP's during the provisioning process.

OPENDNS Servers are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 and are input by default in our provisioning system.

Once you're server is powered on and 'on the Net', you can RDP / SSH to the IP or Hostname (if you completed DNS)

At login, you'll find a Windows Server as you specified for provisioning, with AntiVirus, IIS7, SQL EXPRESS 2008 and Windows 2008 64 Bit.

Internet Services and Ports.. The Virtual Servers work on Service Nodes.. this also allows the providers to charge for IP use. Our provisioning plan is to open up the usual ports, FTP, BIND, HTTP, HTTPS, RDP and leave 5 ports open in the provisioning API. say you want to open up HTTP Proxy on Port 8080, add it to the Node List and it'll get activated. However, a note of reality, the Cloud Provisioning Service we use at TerraMark is 'BETA', therefore, our API must be labeled ALPHA for experts only.

There is a Virtual Server Management Console that interfaces with the vCloud API with access to the Billing System and Trouble Ticket Platforms and the basic Hosting Controller WebMaster Level Account.

Why would I use your Company and not just get my own vCloud Service?

How do I get started?

To begin, CHAT US, we'll create it manually, immediately. We expect to have the automated provisioning tool available Feb. 4, 2010. Iou will be taken through the sign-up and registration process, followed by instructions for accessing your account for the first time.

What can I run on vCloud Express?

You can basically run any website, third-party software, server software or custom-developed application—just as you would with a traditional server. We have customers running everything from static websites to revenue-producing e-commerce websites to SaaS applications to mission-critical IT infrastructure like Microsoft Exchange, Citrix XenApp, and Oracle or MSFT SQL Server databases.

What is the maximum server size I can run?

A vCloud Express Server can be configured with up to eight virtual processors, 16GB of memory and seven TB of storage.

How quickly can I scale out my vCloud Express environment?

With our “Copy Server” feature you can scale out your vCloud Express environment with the click of a mouse and two-step wizard; it’s that simple. The Copy Server feature makes an identical copy of your source server so there is no need to reload your applications when you want to horizontally scale your environment.

What type of support is included?
